   Album Rating: Wow, not really much going on in this thread huh. I had forgotten how much filler there was on the second half of this album - dropping it down a notch to Ends incredibly strong on 'Second To None' though. Hmm I guess that makes Bankrupt! my favourite Phoenix album.

   These guys never get it wrong. The second I heard this I got the words "its never been like that, its never been like that" running through my head non-stop (especially since it IS in the refrain of track #4). Pheonix is a French band with weird words, a lovely voice, and some nifty tunes/5(61).

   Judging from my first opinion on their first two records and the mid's pop rock style album art, I was a little skeptical. But I really, really liked this record! "It's Never Been Like That" ditches Phoenix's old sound in favor of a punchy, hooky, well-produced and all-around fun record that also has its moments of nostalgia and melancholy.
